The Estate was at the forefront of the drive to find alternative uses for traditional agricultural buildings that had ceased to be of use to modern day farming.

A number of very successful conversions have been carried out including the Old Dairy complex in Elton village which provides excellent office accommodation and a Loch Fyne Seafood restaurant (Tel: 01832 280298).

Another set of redundant farm buildings on the Estate at Warmington have been converted to provide quality office space – now fully occupied with staff and visitors enjoying a pleasant rural working environment and plenty of car parking space.

The former water mill at Warmington is another success story. The mill and nearby boat house have been imaginatively converted to a retail showroom currently occupied by Fired Earth, interior designers and suppliers of Aga cookers and furnishings.

The Walled Garden Centre was created on the site of the Hall's kitchen garden. The well stocked garden centre concentrates on selling quality plants, garden furniture, garden equipment and sundries. The above mentioned developments complement the traditional commercial properties on the Estate, which include the Black Horse Public House and the Elton village Post Office and General Stores.
